A WM Display Group Case Study
Mini Liquor Bottle Dump Bins
The Opportunity:
With a reset on the horizon, Kroger approached us to transform their mini liquor bottles into high-impulse winners. We set the bar with three essentials: gondola compatibility, cost efficiency, and shopper-friendly access. After all, impulse purchases happen in seconds, and when customers can’t easily see or reach what they want, the moment passes along with the sale.
The Solution:
We created mini liquor bottle dump bins that clip directly onto standard gondola shelves. No tools, no complicated installation, no disruption to existing store layouts. Each bin measures just under 12 inches long, about 15 inches wide, and 4 inches high, allowing for serious inventory levels to be merchandised at once. The bins feature:
Crystal-clear PET Front Panels for customers to easily spot their favorites.
Adjustable Dividers create organized sections for streamlined SKU management.
Dump Bin Design supports faster restocking and full appearance.
This modular approach transforms untapped shelf space into high-performing impulse zones. Customers notice products immediately, store teams love the simplified restocking, and the mini bottles finally get the visibility they deserve.
As each store required a unique planogram and display count, our logistics team determined and fulfilled each unique request. Drop shipments were synchronized with Kroger’s reset schedule to ensure seamless integration without operational disruption.
The Impact:
Three months into the test, the results were undeniable. Stores with our new dump bins saw mini liquor bottle sales jump by 50%. Meanwhile, control stores without the bins only managed a 9% increase over the same period. A net sale increase of 41% directly attributed to better display strategy. Kroger didn’t waste time debating the results. They immediately placed an order for another 1,358 units, expanding the program by nearly 395%. The bins delivered on every front: faster product turnover, streamlined restocking processes, and clear proof that even the smallest products can generate substantial returns when they’re displayed thoughtfully.
